David Seaton serves as the chairman and chief executive officer of Fluor Corporation, one of the world’s leading and largest engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services companies. He became CEO and joined Fluor’s board of directors in February 2011, and was elected to the role of chairman of the board in February 2012.
Since joining the company in 1984, Seaton has held numerous positions in both operations and sales globally. Prior to assuming his current position, Seaton served as Fluor’s chief operating officer. Other executive assignments included senior group president over Energy & Chemicals, Government and Power Groups and responsibility for Fluor’s global corporate sales function.
In addition to chairing Fluor’s board, Seaton serves on the board of directors of The Mosaic Company (NYSE: MOS). Active in a variety of professional and business organizations, he is a member of the Business Roundtable, International Business Council and was appointed to the U.S. National Petroleum Council in 2012. He is also a board member of the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the U.S.-Saudi Arabian Business Council.
Under Seaton's leadership, Fluor has become recognized as the global leader in promoting ethics, compliance, integrity, and anti-corruption in international business. In that regard, he is an active leader and board member of the World Economic Forum’s Partnering Against Corruption Initiative and is co-chair of the Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Corruption.
Seaton is a National Trustee and Chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), former Chairman of BCGA's Southwest Region, a Trustee of the PGA of America Foundation and he serves as the Chairman of the President’s Initiative Council at the University of South Carolina and Chairman for the University’s $1B Capital Campaign. Mr. Seaton is also Chairman of Metropolitan Dallas' United Way Campaign for 2015 - 2016.
David Seaton holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School of Business and Thunderbird University’s International Management Program. In May of 2014, Mr. Seaton received an honorary Doctor of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina for commitment to business ethics, corporate responsibility and his leadership of Fluor Corporation.
