Washington - The following can be attributed to Business Roundtable Senior Vice President of Communications Michael Steel:
“In the USMCA negotiations, President Trump secured important provisions to protect American jobs and bolster domestic manufacturing. Today, North American trade supports more than 13 million U.S. jobs and plays an essential role in the ability of American manufacturers, businesses and workers to compete with China.
“We agree with the President’s goals of securing our borders and stopping the flow of illegal drugs into the country. To avoid long-lasting tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico that could have serious costs for American families, farmers and manufacturing, Business Roundtable hopes that Mexico, Canada and the U.S. can quickly reach a deal to strengthen security at the border.”
