Under Section 109 of the Clean Air Act (CAA), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is required to issue national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS) for six air pollutants: ozone, nitrogen oxide (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), lead and particulate matter. |
