America’s CEOs Urge President Obama to Approve Keystone XL

The Bottom Line - March 20, 2012

On behalf of the CEO members of the Business Roundtable (BRT), President John Engler sent separate letters this week to President Obama and all Members of Congress expressing BRT’s strong support for the Keystone XL pipeline extension.

Approval to extend the Keystone XL pipeline:

  • Could directly create 20,000 new U.S. jobs in the near term;
  • Could – by aiding in the responsible development of Canadian oil sands – contribute to the creation of an additional 500,000 U.S. jobs by 2035; and
  • Enjoys the support of U.S. Governors along the pipeline’s route, major labor unions and a bipartisan majority of U.S. Senators.

Creating jobs, driving economic growth and boosting U.S. energy security should be an easy decision to make.
