Veteran Capitol Hill Communicator Betsy Andres Joins Business Roundtable

Washington – Business Roundtable today named veteran Capitol Hill communicator Betsy Andres as Senior Director. Andres, who currently serves as Director of Media Affairs for U.S. House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), will help guide strategic communications, media relations and member communications for the association of chief executive officers of leading U.S. companies.

“Betsy comes to Business Roundtable with a well-earned reputation as a creative professional whose experience at the intersection of government and news media will help the Roundtable advance pro-growth economic policies,” said Business Roundtable President John Engler. “Betsy’s strong relationships on Capitol Hill and with news media professionals will serve our members well.”

Andres brings years of Capitol Hill leadership experience to Business Roundtable. She served for more than five years in Speaker Boehner’s communications office, where she managed broadcast media appearances and directed the official press advance operation. While in the Speaker’s office, Andres coordinated several notable, high-profile broadcast stories that highlight the history and inner workings of Congress and the Speaker’s office. Andres was also responsible for facilitating the media logistics for the President’s annual State of the Union Address and the subsequent Republican response to the nation.

In addition to her work in the Speaker’s office, Andres spent time in the communications offices of the House Republican Conference and the House Ways and Means Committee. Andres’s experience also includes political campaigns, having served as Deputy Press Secretary for the National Republican Congressional Committee.
