Senate Approval of TPA Is a Vote for Growth and Jobs

Business Leaders Call on House to Take Up Legislation Without Delay

Washington – Business Roundtable, representing CEOs of U.S. companies from every sector of the economy, today applauded Senate approval of the Bipartisan Congressional Trade Priorities and Accountability Act of 2015 (TPA-2015).

“Today, Senators voted for U.S. jobs and economic growth by passing bipartisan TPA legislation,” said Tom Linebarger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cummins Inc. and Chair of the Business Roundtable International Engagement Committee. “This legislation will help the United States advance an ambitious trade agenda that will create new jobs and opportunities for American businesses, farmers and workers. We urge the House to consider and pass this important legislation as soon as possible.”

Passage of bipartisan TPA legislation is a top priority for Business Roundtable. Business Roundtable founded and leads the U.S. business and agricultural community’s Trade Benefits America Coalition, which educates on the benefits of trade and U.S. trade agreements and advocates for passage of modernized TPA legislation.
