New Report Shows How Cutting-Edge Technologies Improve Environment

Washington – Business Roundtable today released Inventing the Future: How Technology Is Reshaping the Energy and Environmental Landscape – a report that highlights, through a series of individual company vignettes, how the private sector is leveraging technology to solve real-world energy and environmental challenges here at home and across the globe.

“Business Roundtable companies are inventing and using cutting-edge technologies to create a more efficient, secure and sustainable future,” said Nicholas K. Akins, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of American Electric Power and Chair of the Business Roundtable Energy and Environment Committee. “This report demonstrates how the advancement and strategic deployment of technology is key to economic – and environmental – success.”

Each year, Business Roundtable companies invest tens of billions of dollars in research and development on energy and environmental technologies. The new Business Roundtable report showcases examples of how investment is providing benefits to the economy, communities and people around the world.
