Congressional Action Needed for Long-term U.S. Immigration System Fix

Following President Obama’s announcement today to take executive action on immigration, Business Roundtable called on Congress and the President to work together to fix America’s broken immigration system for the long term.

“We appreciate President Obama’s commitment to improve our immigration system, but America’s needs can be met only through reform of our entire immigration system; executive action does not fix our broken immigration system,” said Greg Brown, Chairman and CEO of Motorola Solutions, and Chair of the Business Roundtable Immigration Committee. “Business leaders are united in the belief that Congress and the President need to work together now to produce a permanent solution that secures our borders, enforces our laws and helps our economy grow.”

Fixing the U.S. immigration system is part of the Business Roundtable growth agenda for America. Business Roundtable CEOs outlined realistic solutions for system-wide reform and made the economic case for legislative action.
