About BRT

Washington - Business Roundtable today issued the following statement on Senate approval of a FY2018 budget resolution with reconciliation instructions on tax reform:

“America’s leading job creators applaud the Senate’s adoption of a budget resolution,” said Joshua Bolten, President & CEO of Business Roundtable. “Now the House and Senate must come together to agree on a budget that delivers reconciliation instructions and a path forward for once-in-a-generation tax reform that benefits all Americans.”

“Tax reform hinges on the ability of the House and Senate to get the budget across the finish line,” said Mark A. Weinberger, Global Chairman and CEO of EY and Chair of the Business Roundtable’s Tax and Fiscal Policy Committee. “Job creators will invest more and hire more if tax reform is enacted. Members of Business Roundtable will be communicating to the House and Senate that a vote for the budget is a vote for economic growth and wage growth for U.S. workers.”
