Business Leaders Welcome Representative Kevin Brady as Chairman of Ways and Means Committee

Washington – Business Roundtable President John Engler today issued the following statement welcoming Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) as Chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means:

“America’s business leaders congratulate Congressman Kevin Brady, the new Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. Congressman Brady has worked tirelessly to reform America’s outdated tax code, expand U.S. trade opportunities and champion pro-growth policies.

“Business Roundtable looks forward to working with Chairman Brady to reform the U.S. tax code for the first time since 1986. A modernized tax code can increase annual GDP, increase after-tax wages for American workers and encourage stronger business investment.

“We welcome Congressman Brady as Chairman and support his continued efforts to boost economic growth through a reformed and competitive tax code and expanded U.S. trade opportunities.”
