About BRT

Washington – Business Roundtable today commended members of Congress for passing legislation included in the omnibus budget bill that would delay the implementation of the 40 percent tax on employer-sponsored health benefits and the medical device tax as well as place a moratorium on the health insurance premium tax.

“More than 150 million Americans rely on employer-sponsored health benefits to cover care for themselves and their families,” said John Engler, President of Business Roundtable. “Congress and the Administration will now have the time to work to preserve critical reforms made by employers before the Affordable Care Act was ever passed. These benefits, like wellness programs, need to be protected for millions of employees who have come to rely on them.”

Earlier this year, Business Roundtable released an economic growth agenda that calls for tax reform, trade expansion, fiscal stability, infrastructure investment and a competitive workforce so that America can reach its full potential.
