Business Roundtable strongly supports the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) reauthorization, which includes provisions to expedite federal permitting for water resources projects.
“This bipartisan bill is an important first step in creating a smarter, more streamlined federal permitting system,” said Andrew Liveris, President, Chairman and CEO of The Dow Chemical Company, and Chair of the Business Roundtable Select Committee on Smart Regulation.
Business Roundtable strongly supports the House-passed provisions to streamline the federal permitting process for water infrastructure projects by shortening the statute of limitations to 150 days and establishing clear deadlines for permitting decisions by federal agencies.
The Roundtable also supports the House-passed cost-sharing provisions, which would enable the federal government to do more with fewer taxpayer dollars. Cost sharing and permit streamlining will help advance 21st century infrastructure projects that President Obama has identified as important for job creation and economic growth.
