Bottom Line: Business Roundtable Urges Action on Lapsed Tax Provisions as a Path to Tax Reform

In a letter to congressional leaders, Louis R. Chênevert, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of United Technologies Corporation and Chair of the Business Roundtable Tax and Fiscal Policy Committee, urged action to reinstate a set of temporary tax measures that were allowed to expire.

The expiration of key measures, which enable companies across sectors to invest and grow jobs, has added even more uncertainty to the tax code, reinforcing the need for comprehensive reform.

Chênevert also reinforced Business Roundtable’s enduring commitment to comprehensive tax reform that “results in a permanent, modernized, and simplified tax code to foster growth, create jobs, and increase the competitiveness of the United States.”
