Business Roundtable’s CEO Economic Outlook Survey, conducted quarterly since the fourth quarter of 2002, provides a forward-looking view of the economy by Business Roundtable member CEOs. The survey tracks our members’ views on sales, capital expenditures and employment, in addition to a quarterly index number that combines these three elements to provide a quick snapshot of anticipated economic conditions for the next six months.
Past third-party research showed that Business Roundtable’s CEO Survey strongly correlated with actual economic conditions. The infographic illustrates this connection by graphing CEO predictions and actual national GDP, capital expenditure and employment numbers, as they are released each quarter.
