CNBC host Larry Kudlow moderated a panel at the quarterly meeting of Business Roundtable CEOs Wednesday and in the evening interviewed BRT President John Engler on the new "Taking Action for America" report. One message: No excuses for inaction.

Kudlow: Inside this document it says Washington has failed to act. And from the nation’s top CEOS, that’s a tough statement:

Engler: CEOs are men and women of action. I mean, they go to work every day to make decisions, to solve problems. When there are problems so self-apparent as we have in this nation -- our deficit, a tax code that has been demolished by deadlines and expirations, 100 provisions expired by the end of this year, when you’ve got regulatory reform that is urgent, an immigration problem that is unresolved, yeah, there’s work to be done, and it's not getting done. No budget in the Senate for a thousand days? You cannot run the government that way.

We pointed out at one point today in one of our little committee meetings, every quarter CEOs have to file a report, what’s going on with the company.  Congress? No budget for three years? What’s with that?
