Mr. Fast has been Chief Executive Officer of Crane since 2001, having previously held the titles of President and CEO. He joined Crane Co. in 1999 as President and Chief Operating Officer and is a Member of the Board of Directors. Crane Co. is a New York Stock Exchange listed diversified manufacturer of highly-engineered industrial products with $2.6 billion in sales and approximately 11,000 employees.
Mr. Fast previously served as Managing Director, Co-Head of Global Investment Banking and a Member of the Management Committee at Salomon Smith Barney and its predecessor company, Salomon Brothers, Inc. Earlier roles at Salomon included Co-Head of U.S. Corporate Finance, Managing Director, Head of Telecommunications Industry Group, and Vice President Investment Banking.
Prior to his tenure at Salomon, Mr. Fast served as Treasurer of MacMillan, Inc. and as Assistant Treasurer of U.S. Industries. He began his career as a commercial lending officer at The Bank of New York.
In addition to serving on the Board of Crane Co., Mr. Fast is on the Board of Directors of Automatic Data Processing, Inc., Regions Financial Corporation and National Integrity Life Insurance Company. He is also a member of the Business Roundtable and the Business Council.
