Mr. James A. Hughes, Jim has been the Chief Executive Officer of First Solar, Inc. since May 2012. Mr. Hughes joined as the Chief Commercial Officer of First Solar, Inc., since March 14, 2012. Mr. Hughes served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Enron Global Assets and is responsible for all of Enron’s energy infrastructure businesses from 1994 to 2003. Mr. Hughes served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Pacific Africa and China. Mr. Hughes also has an experience with a major Houston, Texas law firm, where he specialized in corporate finance and securities transactions. Mr. Hughes began his career as a lawyer with Vinson & Elkins working initially in the Dallas, Texas office. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of AEI from October 2007 to 2011. Mr. Hughes joined AEI in May 2007 as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Hughes spent several years acting as a principal in a privately held company focused on micro-cap investments in distressed manufacturing assets in North America. Mr. Hughes served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Prisma Energy International from 2002 to March 2004. Mr. Hughes held a number of senior management positions with the Enron organization. He served as an Assistant General Counsel of Enron International. He serves at Enron Creditors Recovery Corp. He serves as a Non-Executive Director of Biomass Energy Resources LLC. Mr. Hughes has been an Executive of Priest River Ltd. from 2004 to 2007. He served as a Director of AEI since October, 2007. Mr. Hughes served as Director of Quicksilver Resources Inc. since March 2005 to March 22, 2004 and Presiding Director since May 2006 and previously served as its Director from July 24, 2001 to March 22, 2004. He has been a Director of APR Energy plc since January 25, 2012. He has been a Director of First Solar, Inc. since August 2012. He serves as a Director of numerous wholly-owned subsidiaries of Enron Corp. He served as a Director of Elektro Eletricidade E Servicos SA from 2007 to 2010. Mr. Hughes received a JD from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in May 1988 and obtained a Certificate of Completion in International Business Law from Queen Mary’s College, University of London in May 1987. He received a BBA from the Southern Methodist University, Edwin L. Cox School of Business in May 1985.
