Senior Vice President, Business Roundtable

LeAnne is a Senior Vice President for the Business Roundtable where she further develops our member retention, recruitment and services.

Most recently, she was the National Association of Manufacturers’ (NAM) senior vice president of membership. LeAnne previously served as a senior consultant with Bingham Consulting Group LLC, an affiliated business of Bingham McCutchen LLP. She provided strategic advice to corporations and a trade association, experiencing multistate efforts to regulate business activities through legislation, regulation and litigation.

Prior to her position with Bingham Consulting, Ms. Wilson was appointed by Governor John Engler in 1991 to serve as his director for the State of Michigan Washington, D.C., Office. In this role, she served as the Governor’s spokesperson in Washington as well as the state’s liaison to the White House, the Michigan Congressional delegation and federal departments and agencies. In his capacity as the chairman of the National Governors Association, Governor Engler chaired the nine-member executive committee that ran the organization and also served as a member of the finance committee. Ms. Wilson represented him on the staff advisory councils of these two committees. Governor Engler also served as an ex-officio member of the National Governors Association’s three standing committees — economic development, human resources and natural resources — and Ms. Wilson coordinated his activities with these three committees.

Ms. Wilson began her political career as a senior in college when she interned for the Michigan House of Representatives. In 1985, she began working for Mr. Engler, who was then the state’s Senate majority leader. She has worked on many state and national campaigns, including the Lousma for U.S. Senate campaign, the Senate Republican Majority Committee, the Bush for President campaign and as deputy director for Bush-Quayle ’88 in Michigan. Ms. Wilson served as the director of Citizens for Michigan, a statewide program to increase the participation of citizens in the governmental process, and assisted with the 1992 Bush-Quayle campaign. She also served as executive director of the Republican Governors Association during Governor Engler’s chairmanship.

Ms. Wilson has served as the director of the Washington Representatives Association, the group representing the Governors’ Directors of Washington offices. She also has been a speaker and panelist for many government-related conferences, including the National Governors Association.

Ms. Wilson, a native of Michigan, earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan. She lives in Alexandria, Va., with her two sons.
