Mr. Chenevert was elected President, Chief Executive Officer of United Technologies on April 9, 2008. He held the position of President, Chief Operating Officer, and served as a Director of United Technologies since March 8, 2006. Prior to that, he served as President of the Pratt & Whitney division of United Technologies from April 1999 through March 2006. Chenevert had been Executive Vice President of the company overseeing Aftermarket Services, Operations and Purchasing since 1997. From 1993 to 1996, Chenevert was Vice President, Operations for Pratt & Whitney Canada. Chenevert received the 1997 Harrington Medal from the Quebec Quality Movement for his improvement initiatives at P&WC;. He also was awarded the prestigious title “Nouveaux Performant 1995,” recognizing him as one of Quebec’s outstanding young leaders. In May 2005, Chenevert was inducted as a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). This AIAA honor is limited to people who have completed important engineering or scientific work, or who have contributed greatly to the arts, science, or technology of aeronautics or astronautics. Before joining Pratt & Whitney in 1993, Chenevert spent 14 years at General Motors. He served as production general manager of General Motors’ St. Therese operation. Chenevert is a founding director of, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Friends of HEC Montreal. He serves on the Director’s Advisory Board for the Yale Cancer Center and is a Co-Chair for the Yale-New Haven Cancer Hospital Capital Campaign Committee. http://www.utc.com
